That's incoherent nonsense Pickle. Frankly, it's like conversing with a chimpanzee that has thumbed through a thesaurus.

I made a simple point relating to what is likely to happen if relatively harmless forms of freedom of expression are suppressed by the state or some form of authority. I linked two disparate events that have in common that theme, in a very obvious way, borne out by events.

You chose to ridicule that either because you are too stupid to assimilate the simple concept involved, or, alternatively, because it didn't suit your pre conceived agenda.

You’re a shambles of a man, nevermind as a professional one Thickle so as usual people are spot on about you.

Claiming there is no suppression of free speech in the UK in the week where folk have been refused entry to the country thereby denying them free speech is simply laughable from you.

But then you’re an advocate of nonces and rapists and favour Nazi methods to ensure your warped view is mandated so no surprise free speech isn’t on your list of priorities.

Re: Speaker's Corner
No.

You start with the total fantasy that the freedom of speech is under attack by some liberal elite with an agenda to turn us all into Muslims and lesbians.

You then go on to claim this has something to do with the club’s owners suppressing the march and the subsequent scenes at the Burnley game.

And then finally you dare to insult me as a professional. Fuck off - you are an utter wanker.

Mashed, that's a good point.

All Amber Rudd has done is bring attention to them and their politics.

They've shot themselves in the foot and raised concern over our liberties.

With the rise and rise of Tommy Robinson's popularity, it's going to get much worse for regressives as the power of social media swings the pendulum towards the centre-right.

While the MSM are up in arms labelling any dissenter as "alt right" and "far right", real people are tuning out and finding their own news.

Re: Speaker's Corner
Fucking hell Pickle, what abject nonsense you talk. Your entire intellectual process is fucked because you start with a pre conceived agenda and have to mash everything in to fit that.

Look, this was some fuckwit on youtube teaching a dog to raise it's paw in response to some offensive phrases. His prosecution and conviction is already causing widespread outrage. People like Gervais and Baddiel are hardly alt-right are they?

The likeliest consequence is a backlash type of reaction. I linked that in character to the backlash we saw with WHU at Burnley. It's fucking join the dots stuff that you ought to be able to follow, having a sociology degree an all.

I’d characterise it as the due course of justice in the context of a right wing shitstorm especially as he received bail and will get suspension next month.

Oh and you are a historical wining twit.

Re: Speaker's Corner
No suppression? The decision today to bring the weight of law and the state against some fucking idiot on on youtube shows the sheer depth of suppression, the lengths to which it has been decided that this is how society will look.

How would you characterise that decision then, if not oppressive and designed to intimidate and suppress?

Re: Speaker's Corner
Case in point; if Lauren Southern et al hadn't have been banned from entering the country then this huge event at speakers corner wouldn't have happened, and their presence probably would have gone almost unnoticed. It's had completely the opposite effect, even more people are paying attention to this sort of thing.

Predict a similar result if the unthinkable happens and CD actually goes to prison.

Hammer and Pickle 12:22 Wed Mar 21
Re: Speaker's Corner
It's a crap point especially as there is no really suppression taking place in the West.

Oh and you are clearly an idiot.

Re: Speaker's Corner
I'm not expecting you to be impressed. I'm making a very simple point about suppressing forms of protest, and the likelihood that this invites an escalation of those protests.

The fact the inherent simplicity of this point nonetheless eludes some fuckwit currently working on translating the menu for Poland's Nandos isn't that much of a shock.

Hammer and Pickle 12:13 Wed Mar 21
Re: Speaker's Corner
You appear to have confused our obvious concern with the future of this club under this board with, er, something completely different.

I am not impressed.

Re: Speaker's Corner
The problem with this kind of politically correct idiocy is that it actually creates the opposite effect to that intended. Far from suppressing 'racial hatred' for want of a better phrase it inflames it, because of the indignation it provokes.

It's pretty similar in character to what happened with the march being cancelled before the Burnley game. If you suppress relatively harmless forms of protest all that tends to happen is that more extreme forms emerge. Once they're out of the bottle they are very hard indeed to put back.

I get the impression you don't like people calling you a bit of a cunt when you act like one, AOI.

Meanwhile, the country is an international joke because of Brexit, while the freedom of speech continues to thrive.

Re: Speaker's Corner
Thanks to the left, and liberals in all parties, this country is now seriously fucked up and becoming something of an international joke.

We no longer have genuine freedom of speech. Speech is now controlled by our 'betters'.

Re: Speaker's Corner
The other week Antifa stormed a uni in London where YouTuber Sargon of Akkad was about to have a debate on free speech and got it cancelled, calling him a "nazi" and "alt right". Anyone who knows even the slightest thing about Sargon knows how ridiculous those accusations are.

(Meanwhile people like Richard Spencer's following has probably remained totally unaffected)

Anyone who's happy with the situation where people are being hauled before the courts for jokes, banned from the country for blasphemy, and physically attacked by people in masks for what they're alleged to think, really needs to have a long think about where this could end up.

And Meecham has described his own views as "liberal" (possibly at his lawyers' suggestion).

Prison? The bloke should not even have been taken to Court or even just officially cautioned come to that.

Nobody was threatened or incited to violence. At worse someone was offended. Big deal.
